The rapist defendant has already broken the conditions of his bond. He would shit his pants if they took him into custody right then and there as they should.

That’s what they’re doing. That’s what happens when you turn yourself in. He will booked and processed then sent home.

You don’t want him to stay in jail. That would be a nightmare for everyone involved. The secret service would have to be there. All his meals would have the catered in. He’d have to have a private room.

Prison they can play for but the county jail would be overly taxing on everyone involved.

I’m sure there is a McDonald’s nearby secret service can fetch his meals from.

Water would suffice for a few months given he’s obese. Probably do him a world of good too.

Y would any sane person want to make him healthier? He’s got 3 years tops. I’m surprised he’s lived this long from what I’ve heard about his diet and lack of exercise.

Doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke, has a good doctor.

              Not that surprising.

You don’t want him to stay in jail.

        Speak for yourself!

Not only would I be ecstatic about that for all the obvious reasons, as an Atlanta resident I’d also appreciate more of a spotlight being put on what a shithole the Fulton County jail is, to help shame the county commission into fixing it.

Why would his meals be catered?

And jails have seg units. So a cell by himself isn’t hard Secret Service can stand outside the door.

They can’t trust that his food isn’t being tampered with. They have a duty to protect the president and that would mean making sure his food is safe.

          Just wait for the trial.

It’s not like your name is on your tray in jail so someone would have to poison the whole jail basically.

And if they need to, the Secret Service can make him a damn ham and cheese sandwich.

You really don’t have any idea what jail is like I take it? So I’m going to paint a picture. It’s not a resort. You don’t get your own food. You don’t get a room. You get a cell with a metal toilet with no ring and no lid. You get a metal sink and three trays of slop a day. That’s all that they’re required to provide.

And if needed, jails are quite capable of segregating inmates in a single cell with 24 hour lockdown. Maybe with an hour out for rec by himself. If the jail is equipped for it.

He’ll be quite safe. Uncomfortable and probably screaming like a baby until he tires himself out. But safe.

              https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2023/08/04/trump-criminal-cases-prison-secret-service/

Could Trump face prison? “Theoretically, yes and practically, no,” said Chuck Rosenberg, a former top federal prosecutor and counsel to then-FBI Director James B. Comey. Rosenberg served briefly as head of the Drug Enforcement Administration in the Trump administration

The article outlines why you’re incorrect even with your vast industry experience. I’m welcome to a counter cite.

Most likely he’ll get home detention at the worst. Even more bizarre is he could be home detention and get elected president which is something that needs to be fixed.

Thank you. I hate overly emotional rhetoric. I like facts.

What I still find shocking is if he’s convicted. He can still run for president. That’s something I am against. I always assumed felons could but be elected.

Hypothetically he could be in prison and president of the country.

That would be quite the look for the US.

In fact, it’s already quite the look, with him being the leading candidate of his party. Madness.

Not if they actually follow the 14th amendment, this would solidify him as having been involved with a coup against the country and should bar him from holding office unless 60% of congress allows him.

This article is mostly about the federal prison system. They may have different rules about segregation units. Minimum yard time, stuff like that. The article mentions movement and keeping a protective bubble around Trump, two issues that state prisons and county jails solve every day with extended segregation units when housing high profile prisoners. Yes, having Secret Service in the prison would make things a bit more complicated but much less so if Trump was in segregated housing.

Not that I think extended seg time is a great way for anyone to spend their life. But this idea that Georgia can’t figure out how to put him in prison if they want to just isn’t true. It’s just not that complicated once you take movement and other prisoners out of the equation.
