But many Americans are…not smart. Actually most Americans, idc.

American reasoning is basically the president controls everything. If their life is bad, then it’s the Democrat president’s fault. If it’s good, then it’s the Republican president’s gift.

The idea of tax cuts sunsetting during Democratic administrations doesn’t really occur to us.

The people who want to argue “R=good, D=bad” also manage to stack it so they win every time.

If something bad happens during a Republican admin, it’s because the Democrats did something last time, and if something bad happens during a Democratic admin, it’s the Democrat’s fault.

If something good happens during a Democratic admin, it’s because of something Republicans did. If something good happens during a Republicans admin, it’s also because of something Republicans did.

While meanwhile Trump said “I take responsibility for nothing.” and as soon as Biden was in they said “he owns it now, can’t blame it on Trump!”.

How people feel about the economy in the three months leading up to the election is still the largest indicator of whether the incumbent will win or not.

That’s what makes me nervous every time congress punts on the budget. Republicans will be happy to tank the economy and hope that people blame Biden for it.

Before mid terms when the republicans got the senate the dems could have extended these benefits or made them into law. They are too spineless to take on Manchin or Sinema so they are fucked now. What’s the point?
