It’s like the pot calling the kettle black. The US Senate is nothing but an actual extremist content machine.
To be fair, steam forums are a hot pile of garbage so the senator is correct in pointing that out at the very least
He’s an US senator, he’s probably angry steam didn’t yet banned all Russians, Chinese and muslims.
The Apartheid Defense League has dropped a tactical “extremism” label. How do you respond?
Considering some of the community threads I’ve seen, they might actually have a point
What do I miss here? Steam is a game purchase platform and game running environment, how are they “normalizing hate and extremism in the gaming community”?
They provide a bunch of other services tied in, like the reviews, Workshop, and most infamous, guides and forums. While the reviews and Workshop tend to not be too bad (although still often not great) the forums and guides tend to be completely unmoderated and as a result, devolve into spam and extremism.
That must be why I have no idea what any of this is about. In the ~20 years I’ve used Steam, I almost never frequent the forums or use guides unless I have a game-stopping problem.
Today I learned …
So I guess it was a good unintentional decision to not care about anything else except the games and the mods.
Steam is a game purchase platform and game running environment
You just left out part that it has extensive community features too.
