The effort required to keep increasing resistors in a chip is just too high at some point. And the power required to run all the chips is becoming unsustainable. Besides that, hardware companies are way over valued if you look at earnings / market cap

Looks like optimizing value for shareholders is not compatible with quality, safety, or decent working conditions. There is too much control from these useless bloodsuckers in wall street.
A 90% agreement to strike sounds pretty high. The cohesion of the union is either very strong.Or, the potential impact to the passport control job is so high.
