The teleporting away (and appearing randomly), how you didn’t seem to visibly hurt them / bullet sponge, disappearing on death etc all contributed to it feeling like a chore to off them.

5 was a bit better but still nowhere near the fun of 1-3/reach/odst

Will do - I jumped ship to Summit and haven’t looked back. The only thing that would be nice to have here is an instance browser.

Can you reload old saves, or only the most recent? I think being able to reload an older save is important in the case of glitches (NPC walks through wall and is unreachable etc)

I do like that you can keep the stats of gear you’re wearing but change the appearance of it to anything you’ve collected before. Nice to actually be able to look good and have good gear.

One thing I’ve done is turn off the Minimap. It’s made it more interesting - I actually pay attention to the landscape details and the golden path thing is actually useful. Just wish you could keep a compass visible.

I just bought a steam deck, and bought hogwarts legacy when it was on sale a while back on a friend’s recommendation.

Decided to give it a try - such a great game! I tend to compare opens world’s to Skyrim, and the detail in the quests is so much better. It’s not just ‘clear this dungeon’. Plus they’ve really thought about what sucks about those other games and really tried to avoid them. Plays great on the steam deck too, I’ve got it capped at 45fps and it never skips a beat.

I don’t think I’ve had this much enjoyment from a gaming device ever. I’ve done the console and game pass on the phone mounted controller, and that was not very consistent. The instant pause/resume button is a game changer with young kids waking up in the night.

Not at all bothered by performance - in fact I’ve seeing articles about how ‘this windows handheld beats the steam deck in tflops’ but an constantly thinking - 'yes, but it’s a handheld. Is it good at that? Battery life, pick up and go etc are super relevant, not just performance.

Bit of a tangent there, but I am having a great gaming time.

You can tie the tongues of barnacles together and use that to bring down entire buildings when they reel each other in. Oh and btw it’s open world and you can level the whole place ala bf3.

Thanks for suggesting summit - I’ve tried many but never felt like they clicked. Summit feels nice- it has many of the same features, you can customise how posts look (even the width of cards!)

I should’ve added - I’m a teacher and make regular use of inking, classroom integration in OneNote, teams assignments to word for pen comments, excel macro workbooks, SharePoint syncing etc…

Unfortunately web wrappers for office lose to many features.

Plus (on my last look) the cameras on my surface pro would never work, so that’s another bust.

As much as I’d like to use Linux, I use windows because I need OneNote, Teams and Office.

So the issue comes when using tables.
Make a table cell end at the bottom of the page, and you’ll likely have a new blank page appear at the end.

The reason is because word needs a ‘new paragraph’ marker (the backwards p symbol) after the table. This delineates where the table ends - it’s part of the formatting. You can’t delete it.

Ways to get around it:

• Don’t make you’re table go to the end of the page.
• Reduce the font size of the new paragraph marker to 1 (you need to enable show formatting marks). You can probably fit this at the bottom of the page without losing much space.

There’s other ways - write it into the conditions of loan that it’s not the school’s responsibility to monitor student use when at home.

There are solutions that allow monitoring only on campus - both the monitoring person and the student need to be on-site for the software to contact a licensing server. No server contact=no monitoring.
And never bring ‘AI’ into it.
