Communism and Democracy are not mutually exclusive, they are on two different axes.
You’re thinking of Communism and Capitalism, which are polar opposites.

It is definitely leading us directly to a type of feudalism though. Where power is held by billionaires and corporations instead of local warlords.
Our planet is literally dying, and humankind is going to be decimated (at least) directly due to the actions of corporations.
People have handguns on their hips in grocery stores.
Yeah, definitely not in my state.
No wonder these psychopaths never feel safe. Literally everyone down there is fucking armed.
But misrepresenting its utility as a modern living room PC doesn’t help anyone and is just going to leave people disappointed.
Did I do this?
Hours later she was still at it, hairs scattered, baffled looking… saying how could someone live with so many choices lol.
Oh man I relate to this so hard hahaha…
Do everything you can to try to preserve those settings, because you will need to do a clean install at some point (well maybe not, I’m sure it depends on your distro), and you’re gonna lose all of it.
You could just send it to me instead of letting it fall… Just a thought.
It’s almost as if they’re two completely different markets
Yup. As someone who hasn’t had a dedicated gaming PC in about a decade, I’ve been really happy with the PS5 + Steam Deck combo (well, plus Switch, but that thing collects dust until Nintendo releases a Mario platformer).
I recently got a laptop that’s not made for gaming specifically, but can handle them pretty well (with Proton), and that has scratched any itch I’ve had for PC games that don’t lend themselves to Deck or console (your RTS games and such).
At risk of giving away the game… I think people would be very surprised to see how cheap physical copies of PS4 and PS5 games go for when you catch them on sale.
And as we all know, middle management does so much work and therefore deserve that right over everyone else.
(sorry I vomited in my mouth a little bit)
Well, turns out I do have PTSD from a decade of working retail and food service. So thanks for that lol
Corporations make that decision. And our country allows (if not encourages) it.
Yes, seriously. Same goes with drinking water behind the counter.

That is pricey… However, as someone who has an ifixit toolkit that contains just about every shape and size of screwdriver bit ever imaginable (and several that defy explanation), it has been the most useful tool I have ever purchased. I can’t even count how many times I’ve used it.
And the quality is outstanding.
I actually thought this headline was a joke (i.e. adding 80% of 0 to 0 equals 0), until I clicked the link to see that people actually pay for Docker? I guess this is for Enterprise?
I have never really had much use for it, so never have installed it, but it seems like everyone here uses Docker, which is surprising given the cost and what you just said.
Oh shit, a reference to 2600 magazine! Nostalgia bomb…
It’s almost as if you’re not killing a person when you get an abortion…
People don’t complain about the order of the glyphs, because outside of videos games, there is no pre-existing, ubiquitous, order those glyphs will always appear in every single time you see them (which is constantly because they make up your written language).
A comes before B. A 3 year old can tell you that.
Square, x, circle, and triangle have no preset order.
Took me weeks to figure out a way to run a script at startup in a konsole window that gets hidden but continues running in the background. Tmux could do it but I found it cumbersome.
screen did the trick with a single command.
