  • To repeat myself from a response to another user:

You don’t even need the deep lore hidden text and recordings for Doomguy. The show-not-tell storytelling is fucking amazing in Doom 2016.

Like they don’t need any deep lore dumps or in depth explainations. The simple and casual disregard of Samuel Hayden for the lives of his employees and everyone else on Mars is in direct contrast to how deeply it’s immediately obvious that Doomguy DOES care about those same dead scientists and colonists just from a few simple actions.

No long-winded explanation necessary. Those 10 seconds were a masterpiece of visual storytelling. It lets us know the stakes, it shows us that Doomguy cares about the lives lost far more than any ostensible greater good or Hayden’s justifications.

  • We shouldn’t just be giving a measly 24 billion.

We have something like 3 and a half THOUSAND Abrams tanks sitting in deep storage at army bases in the desert. This is the only use case for them between now and the heat death of the universe. Let’s get some fucking good out of them and send them to Ukraine.

I don’t care that we have laws about exporting them. Change the fucking laws and give Ukraine what she needs to protect democracy in Europe.

Even if war with China happens, that isn’t going to be a “we need those 3500 Abrams more than we have in active service” war. That’s going to be a “We start pumping out planes and CV(N)s like it’s WW2 again.” war.

  • It’s almost like he made a bunch of promises and then the democrats deliberate self-sabotaged so that they wouldn’t have to actually fufil them.

What’s that, we can’t fix the senate because the parliamentarian said so? I guess the filibuster is insurmountable then. It certainly isn’t like we can just ignore or replace said parlimentarian.

What’s that, rather than using the clear and unambiguous means of forgiving student debt, we’re going to use a method that the Republicans can easily block with a lawsuit that goes to their bought-and-paid-for Supreme Court? Guess you’re stuck in debtor’s hell forever.

Campaign on worker and union rights but then pass laws to force the railroad workers back to work without striking and without any rights.

Republicans are traitors and Democrats are nigh-on useless, and they wonder why voter turnout looks grim.
