  • I’m also in the second camp. Plus, censoring the bad words on specific users is a few too many steps closer to don’t say gay on the internet. Is ass ok but not fuck? Is sex talk forbidden? All mention of anatomy, including general questions about health? How about they ban anti-capitalist language too? The tiktok language phenomenon shows that users will absolutely just make do getting around communication bans, “unalive” and “le$beans” being the most popular. This type of censorship has already happened on other platforms, and it’s all bullshit and useless.

  • I wouldn’t buy a printer to try and be profitable per say, I would buy one for the things you cant/don’t want to buy. If you can use some 3d modeling software, you can begin to solve problems for almost no money.

Stuff like a vape holder and extended cup holder for my partners car, or a couple little shelf brackets for our IKEA cubes, or replacement closet rod supports. It takes a few minutes in CAD, a couple hours or printing, and 15¢ of plastic, and saves a trip to the store. Making custom, exactly how you want stuff is really nice.

Knick nacks are fun too, but ultimately your house will fill with things you don’t particularly want or use.

  • “an employee making less than the new threshold who doesn’t manage anyone else, whose job doesn’t require them to exercise “independent judgment with respect to matters of significance,” according to DOL, and whose job doesn’t require advanced knowledge might qualify for overtime pay.”

The limit used to be people making under like, 100k, and now the limit is like, 130k or something. How many people making between 100k and 130k have jobs that are not management and don’t require independent judgment with respect to matters of significance?

Feels pretty niche to me, but I guess progress is good. I’m also wondering how many people in these positions don’t have significant bargaining power., as the article states this law is for those people.

Edit: Ah re-read it: it also impacts those in the 30-40k range, bumping the threshold up significantly.
