Even Microsoft doesn’t seem to be actively preventing their games from running on Linux. Fuck Sweeney.

Learning that companies are doing this so you can’t install competitor’s games
Wait, wat? I hadn’t heard this explanation. I cynically thought it before, but I’ve never seen it suggested by anyone other than me.
Yup, I was friends with his older brother. Both of them were/are a bit weird, didn’t think much of either of them academically until grade 12. Then their math & and computer genious came out. Had a few university classes with them, the older brother has better social skills, but Lee is more creative IMHO.
Upshot is I played Capsized in 2009, so that was neat.
I need to try out Xonotic. I went to high school with the guy who started the original game, who runs Alientrap now.
I’ve been meaning to try the original Crysis now that I have a computer that can play it. I started it, but then life happened.
DOOM Eternal didn’t do it for me. It’s Doom-ish, but not enough. It’d be a better game if it wasn’t set in the Doom universe trying to add a bunch of non-Doom elements to the game. Doom (2016) did that too, but not to the same extent. I like the older Dooms mostly for their simplicity: get gun, see bad guy, shoot gun. Pick up health. Repeat. Doom Eternal did that, but added a story, weapon mods, and skills. Fine mechanics, but not Doom enough for me.
Looks like the instances that have defederated the most other instances, rather than been defederated by the most.
Need more context: Are you also 15? If so then this might be acceptable anywhere.
But… how’d you think the got made? Had you never had a decent one at a restaurant?
Vista >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 11.
So… is it possible to afford to live there these days without being Donald Trump, JK Rowling, the King, or clergy?
I think you mean “dyaaadddddd…”
What about the pin to unlock your phone? And at least here there’s no pin with tap.
Well, I missed an entire paragraph, indeed it is. I read about SteamOS the first time, though.🤷
Also true, but Android is also rarely if ever considered “desktop”. ChromeOS could be, since it shares a market with Mac and Windows laptops, which also run “desktop” operating systems.
So, does this include ChromeOS? I’m not sure if I’d qualify it as either a desktop OS or “Linux” (in the traditional sense). But since there’s enough room for debate there it’s worth asking.
Netflix has the wrong time for me half the year. Apparently they don’t believe in areas where DST isn’t a thing.
I’ma show my age and say 90s Duke Nukem. Thanos wouldn’t stand a chance against bad 80s action-movie parody camp.
And who bring a Playboy mag to their university’s computer lab, and advertises their possession?
Probably a random grad student. They were just coming out of the “sexual revolution” of the 60s at that point. It’d be a lot weirder ten years earlier or ten years later.
That a similar thing did happen ten years earlier is the weird part, I think.
Mine will too, when it’s reasonably warm out, but not below -15 or so. Below -30 it’s even longer, and might not keep it clear, and I need to open windows just so moisture goes somewhere other than the windshield.,
If it’s cold outside it usualky takes at least 10 minutes to be warm enough to keep the windshield clear, so not all of it will be walking.
Oh, yeah, Valve and Proton are to thank. I’m just saying Microsoft’s not blocking Proton like Epic and a few others seem to be. I can appreciate the stance of “We won’t help you, but we won’t stop you either. Good luck” that I think MS is taking with this.
