Federation is not something familiar or comfortable for an average normal person
I don’t use Arch , btw
Federation is not something familiar or comfortable for an average normal person
Mastodon is just like Threads : a hype , wait for the hype to end and you’ll see that it doesn’t offer something that would impress an ordinary person who isn’t a nerd or tech savvy enough to continue using it… What I’ll say now is more like random thoughts about federation and it applies to any federated service but this post inspired my thoughts so …
The two best features I can think of for Mastodon are :
Well the only thing you would get from a Syrian VPN server is no ads on Meta - YouTube and a few other apps , otherwise you’d need a VPN for the VPN to use things that aren’t available here … like: indeed (jobs) , Netflix , Gitlab , linktree , Google play (mostly works but sometimes need a VPN ) and other things I can’t remember
Chromium is controlled by Google, Firefox main point is add-ons (especially Ublock) but it has nothing else to offer unless you sync devices
I’ve heard of it , hope it’d be good
You mean you don’t wanna use a Syrian VPN server , or you don’t wanna use a VPN if you ever lived in Syria ?
I don’t know how long will I need to wait in order to see a new FOSS Android browser that isn’t based on Chromium or Firefox and doesn’t use Android system WebView
I wasn’t sure whether I’ll say something similar or I’ll keep it to myself
Friday is already a holiday here , I want Thursday to join holidays…
Ads is one of many bad parts about YouTube
They probably make money from sharing my data with 3rd parties , though it’s not as benefitical as the data of someone in other countries I live in Syria
YouTube doesn’t show ads in my country but I still prefer not to use the official app because it sounds “heavy” to me
When I was trying to unlock the bootloader, Mi flash tool told me there’s an update (v7.?) and gave me the link to download the newer version, when I tried to download it every browser I used gave an error in the website even with VPN Now reading this news , even if it’s still unofficial… I was wondering if Xiaomi retracted the update because it’s actually preparing to close the program
I’ve decided a long time ago I won’t buy Xiaomi phone again unless it’s my only choice… if that’s true then it’s no more a choice Anybody knows what are OnePlus and Oppo polices with unlocking bootloader ?
So far I couldn’t unlock the bootloader because whenever I add a number it tells me to try again tomorrow
This reply actually saved my time, thank you so much
What’s up with services providers bricking their products ?
Or is it another attempt to force users to upgrade to a newer phone…
Tried it many times before but it consumes more resources than brave , especially internet data
Good luck…
