FUCK CONTENT, LET ALL THE MINDLESS DISTRACTION DIE, WE’D BE BETTER OFF IN THE STREETS, SPENDING TIME TOGETHER, BUILDING SOMETHING, ACTUALLY TALKING TO EACH OTHER!
Says a tiny edgelord in me. I would never write something like this, I’m an adult.

Says a tiny edgelord in me. I would never write something like this, I’m an adult.
Or you get to experience another big bang. That would be worth the wait.
I like the simplicity and that everything is up to date. Not sure about the weekly 11 GB of updates though.
Saw a documentary about a Chinese billionaire on TV a couple of years ago. He was born poor in some village and worked his way up, owning dozens of factories now. He was super busy, grumpy to the people around him and very torn. He asked the camera if he is part of the solution or part of the problem, he couldn’t tell. Told us he misses the sounds of frogs in the evening, when he was playing with his friend in the forests and fields that are now industrial parks. Made me cry, what are we doing?
Same, Timeshift let me down one time when I needed it. I still use it though, and I’m afraid to upgrade Mint because I don’t want to set my system again for of the upgrade fails to keep my configuration and Timeshift fails to take me back
ok boomer
This looks like it costs more than my old laptop, which I saved from becoming e-waste. But I tend to forget we’re already living in the future and hubs like this exists. So, thanks for reminding me, I’ll look into it. :)
My phone doesn’t have HDMI, I don’t know how to share the screen with my TV. Plus I have an USB drive with a lot of movies attached to the computer.
I have an old laptop with Linux Mint hooked to my TV. Firefox with some bookmarks to different streaming services, Freetube with subscriptions, sunshine/moonlight to my gaming PC and emulators to play some retro adventures with my kids. I remote controll it with KDE Connect from my phone. Works great!
I used to fiddle with Kodi on a Raspberry Pi, but the laptop is so simple and easy to set up, I don’t see myself going back.
What is this meme template called? I always chuckle at the different topics but don’t know anything about where it comes from.
In FreeTube, go to Settings > SponsorBlock and enable “Use DeArrow Video Titles” and “Use DeArrow for thumbnails”
I recommend SLDL, it takes some nerves to set up but then it reads Spotify-playlists and batch downloads them from Soulseek.
This is great advice. I’m not at all interested in building and maintaining a library of stuff I won’t watch twice anyway. Resist the urge. I hooked an old laptop to my TV, put Linux Mint on it and use KDE Connect to remote control it’s mouse and keyboard with my phone. Bookmark some streaming sources in Firefox, install FreeTube for your YouTube needs, add an external harddrive for stuff your really want to keep and your have a great media center for zero money.
I really liked the Behind the Bastards-podcast about Stalin
Signal uses Amazon’s servers, look it up. It’s all encrypted of course.
I used to agree but now I do not anymore. Politicians want to get elected, so they say and impement stuff people like. If people wanted real change, then we would have politicians in power who would implement these changes. But (most) people don’t want that, they’d rather be lied to, everything is fine, we’ve got it under control, you don’t have to change, trust us, keep shopping.
It has been clear for decades that governments should act quickly, wisely and decisively, but they simply do not, preferring to look for other issues. The kids from Just Stop Oil poured soup on glass and sprayed chalk on stones to draw attention to the huge emergency that we collectively ignore. They wanted to attract attention, and they succeeded. But their fellow human beings don’t want to think about the impending climate collapse, let alone take action and join an active protest. That would require leaving the comfort zone. So they get upset anonymously on the internet about the form of protest and act as if art vandalism was being practiced here.
Cognitive dissonance is when your convictions do not match your actions. You solve it by changing either your actions or your beliefs.
But you just learned no art was vandalized. That might change your opinion.
That’s something I think about a lot. These people need to be humbled, big time. I don’t wish them all the bad there is in the world, I don’t want them to suffer and die. But I want that fucking selfish arrogance and the entitlement slapped out of them. Experience their fragility.
