Aliens landed there. Smaller spaceship than i had expected
Lemmy is VERY small. Most users who post often can make a difference to the whole site. Similarly several posts made in a short timeframe are noticeable to many active users, especially on the bigger communities.
Social beings like approval of peers.
Like another commenter said, survival instinct.
Also its a nod to our identity, we derive a sense of self worth from those around us. Approval from people who believe what you do makes you feel like youre a part of smth bigger than yourself (look at religion, nationalism etc).
Songs of Leonard Cohen 1967.
Blonde on blonde, Bob Dylan 1966.
Highway 61 revisited, Bob Dylan 1961.
Everything you’ve come to expect, tlsp 2016.
My beautiful dark twisted fantasy, kanye 2010. (Sorry)
I’d be happy with any of these. But I’d give highway 61 revisited the top spot easily.
You’re the sole community mod. If I were you I’d do pole in the comments and remove it if enough people thought it was racist. Not saying you have to, but it would be wise to do so.
Edit: I’m brown and don’t find it offensive. The point which I believe was pretty damn clear is that the person who made the post is the sole mod and there’s an issue with power there (even if its a meaningless meme community on a tiny social platform).
Quora?
This community?
Well signal also has the note to self.
People will hate this, but WhatsApp is probably the second best and convenient to most people. (But if your friends are willing to get signal, do it.) In fact it was always better than telegram, there I said it.
Also there’s many great note taking apps that have a sync feature. Joplin for one.
Done! Looks cool
Thanks I’ll try that!
We’re in a lot of the same communities man. I think I first noticed you on the harry potter community on my literature.cafe alt
I keep Lemmy alive. Think of me as Jesus but cooler.
Edit: and thats just my main. Across my alts I have another 500 or so. Plus several thousand comments.
Actions we condemn today were often considered acceptable, even heroic, in their era. Many figures are celebrated for their accomplishments in fields like military leadership, politics, philosophy, or art.
Also national pride, these people become symbols of a nation’s identity and history, youre always taught they’re heroes. They also leave a lasting impact on culture, shaping the art of their era and therefore beyond. Look no further than Napoleon for this one. Or the Mughals.
Power and influence can be awe-inspiring, even if their methods are questionable. These are traits that have throughout history been associated with being morally good in a way. Fame, power, money makes you ‘good’ in many cultures over history. Kings are looked up to, they are seen as people with noble blood. Their actions are inherently correct. I genuinely believe our morality as a society has grown more stringent over time.
Sometimes, people are presented in a simplified, heroic manner without acknowledging their flaws. That’s just the nature of storytelling imo. They aren’t being critically analysed because they are stories. And we make art based on the stories and art that survive. We base stories of Alexander the Great on the art he allowed in his time.
This is brief, I have a lot of opinions on this matter lol.
Well here its actually cheaper to buy it. I do make it when I want to have control over my flavors but normally why put effort into smth you can buy cheaper and is shelf stable anyways
There’s smth about a basket of fires when I’m eating out that I like
I have noticed some phones being more susceptible to this than others. My galaxy s9 has been through the ringer and is perfectly fine, meanwhile seen note 10 has this issue a lot.
it’s cold. Hope that helps ❤️
Strawberry works, but I you’ve said that already. I believe banana is used in some Nordic country too (not 100% about this)
