Too bad proxy wars don’t count
Carpet rakes are underrated. I’ve got a rubber one and it’s great. Also good for removing pet hair from furniture with a vacuum.
I dunno about the code. But, they’re definitely pushing their agenda here on Lemmy.
As far as I’m concerned, it’s the only true negative aspect of Lemmy that I’ve noticed since I joined.
Everything here is pretty good. The users are mostly cool. Content is not high in quantity, yet, but it’s decent quality.
Lemmy has one real, true problem, tankies. They’re dishonest, they manipulate content, they brigade posts, they’re a cancer. They have no home in legitimate link aggregation.
If it is true that they “built” Lemmy, it was only to get away from everyone who shunned them and forced them to find a safe place. And now they’re mad that people who aren’t deranged lunatics arrived in their safe place.
Okay. Finally, after a month here, I’ll bite.
Who said it was built by tankies? I’m not saying it wasn’t. But, afaik, ActivityPub was developed by W3C.
Are they tankies? They don’t strike me as tankies, but I’ve been wrong before. People keep saying the Fediverse was built by tankies, and I guess I’m missing some history, because as far as I can tell, there may have been some tankies, but it doesn’t seem built by tankies.
Even now, Lemmygrad is small. They’re annoying as fuck. And they’re pervasive on Lemmy. But, it’s not like there’s a lot of them.
So, if anyone feels like bringing me up to speed on the history of the Fediverse, I’m extremely eager to learn.
I left Reddit for Lemmy a month ago.
The comments in politics communities around here do not live up to Reddit’s yet. Close sometimes.
This comment is the first time I’ve actually laughed. Brilliant. I actually went at read the article just because of this comment. Cheers.
Okay, fair enough. Although, honestly, I’m struggling to figure something out and maybe you know.
If Lemmy users all hated Reddit and Reddit users so much, why did they all go there and try to convince everyone from Reddit to come to Lemmy when the API debacle happened?
Mass exodus from Reddit is because of API, not because the marijuana subreddit is called trees. You think the number of users skyrocketed the day API closed because people were mad about foodporn? No.
I personally agree with this list. But, we have to be pragmatic here. This is what CNBC says they did:
“The study measures quality of life issues including crime, health care, childcare and health care, as well as inclusive policies on discrimination and reproductive rights.”
See, the last two skew this study. People in these shit hole states (not all, but at least enough of the voting public) don’t want inclusive policies or reproductive rights. So, to them, this metric is backwards. They would argue that living in California or New York was way more terrible because of the brown people and gays.
This isn’t exactly a scientific study. It’s taking objective data to reach a subjective conclusion. Neat headline though.
Edit: many if them are arguing exactly that in this thread. With a nice dose of racism and misogyny thrown in. Nice. I love when shit comes full circle.
Tbf, they deserved it. What I said is true. They are posting lies and propaganda all over Lemmy.
That, I suppose.
But, they’re manuputing content, posting propaganda, brigading the votes in every thread.
Go read their comments, it’s a real classy group.
Ha, here’s a reply I got from their moderator:
Go and eat shit fed to you by your US masters as Europe crumbles, you pathetic eunuch.

Their most active user also posts “news” and “politics” all over Lemmy, all day, every day.
Lemmy.ml also has a lemmygrad instance that is spamming propaganda and disinformation in all the news / politics subs. The !worldnews here is just about useless since it’s 75% lemmygrad users and their alts spamming nonsense.
If anyone actually knows how video within the Fediverse works, please share…
I’ve been trying to figure out and I’m struggling.
There’s @peertube, @owncast, @tilvids
But, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how it works
So far on Lemmy, whenever I see someone comment this, it’s because they’re mad Reddit got “toxic towards my free speech to stupid ass MAGA nonsense”. Is that what you mean by Reddit being “toxified”?
