ISO dates are the goat because they string compare correctly. Just yesterday I shaved 2 full seconds off a page transition by removing a date parse in the middle of a hot sorting loop. Everything should use ISO in my opinion.

2·1 year agoI finally gave up on rcs and I’m on beeper now. I had one or two friends that it just never works with and there is no way to disable it per conversation so I was unable to talk to just those people. Hopefully when beeper adds rcs soon it’ll be better.
0·1 year agoI dislike using downvote as a disagree button. Makes me feel like I’m discouraging people from sharing an opinion that’s different than mine. Even if they are wrong (in good faith) I think I’d rather they feel it is a safe place to be wrong and just own the mistake with an edit or a reply. I know it makes me feel bad (I know I should have thicker skin) when I’m downvoted for having an opinion so I don’t want to make others feel that way.
I can’t overstate how big of a fan I am! There are certainly a few rough edges (particularly with attachments and gifs for text convos) but other than that it’s been great. I use the iMessage integration but only with one friend cause I’ve been nervous to rely on it. The devs are really good at communicating when there is an outage which gives me a lot of confidence.
