Have you checked out Protondb.com ?
It’s been a lifesaver gaming wise. Nice to know most games do and can run on linux, it’s usually the ones with some sort of online anti-cheat that don’t run.
In what way does capitalism “dampen” selfishness?
I read an article that China, while yes they are the outspending US in fusion research, also have exponentially more PhD’s working on the research as well.
Just get a PC? Parts prices are low right now and they are far more useful than a console that has a “planned expiration” every 5-10 years.
But it’s also hard to know what contemporary economists are arguing without reading those foundational writers
I’ll share what a Harvard professor and copyright lawyer sent me in an email:
I write with a gloomy update for the Hachette v. Internet Archive appeal in the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals: The court affirmed the lower court’s decision about CDL, and ruled that Internet Archive’s Open Libraires program was NOT a fair use.
One shining moment though, was that the court ruled that a “Donate Now” button does not indicate “commercial use” for purposes of the fair use argument. (Phew!)
There is more to unpack here, but we will be hosting a series of CFR talks in the coming weeks to discuss the decision and it’s implications.
Such a great game regardless! Romulus took some cues from the game and it definitely shows.
Or giant megacorporations each hire 200,000+ of them to create products for the non-magic folk to consume.
After a few decades, the idea of being a wizard is synonymous with working 8+ hours a day on magic that no wizard really wants and there is so little new spells and magic being created in the world that everyone wishes there wasn’t any.
Then leaks come out that the products these megacorporations create have been slowly killing the planet and they’ve known for decades. But since they have so much power and money, nothing can stop them until the world dies.
I disagree. Trump surviving the asassination gave him a huge publicly. It should also be mentioned that Biden resigned shortly after, so this event really shook up the overall trajectory of the election.
Finding a good MusicBee alternative on linux. I just dual boot into windows whenever I need to convert FLACs and organize it. Otherwise I’m on Linux 99% of the time now.
FLAC is best if space is no concern. But when your collection starts getting very big, there are better options like AAC (which I use). It’s a lot less space than FLAC and mp3, and higher quality than mp3 as well.
I’m on the fence between Harris or to abstain. My opinion is that the Democrats are not listening to the people, and by holding hands with the international criminals in Israel, they are alienating progressives massively (no doubt her VP pick is an attempt to win them over). 76 years of pro-Israel policy, and what has it done?
When it comes to economy, Harris is a neoliberal, and rather conservative economically, which I disagree with.
Nationalize it ftw
Right, because manhole covers were the biggest issue…
Musicbee was the only thing keeping me from switching for years. Simply put, it’s the best music player and even better is that it’s open source.
There was an academic paper put out a long time ago that basically argued for essential services like food, water, etc to be given non-profit status so corpo’s couldn’t do this sort of thing.
Have you tried Bottles and/or Wine?
I’ve never had a problem running anything from the Adobe or Microsoft Suite for example, in fact I think they run waaay smoother on linux
But yea I get it, a lot of people associate compatibility with gaming only.
