“Do I look like I know what a Wayland is?”
But the machine needs those orphans to keep going! Why would we want to deprive the system of what it needs? Won’t anybody think of the shareholders!?!
Not much, what’s up with you?
Oh I know the value of networking. A lot of guys won’t try to be friends with someone that’s not into them and they miss out on something great. The big one being a friend. For a lot of women, not having women friends is a big red flag and some guys just don’t bother.
It is no bother at all, thanks for checking in.
I am surprised you found this thread considering how long its been. Unfortunately, she is not into me. However, we became really great friends and hang out a lot. So there is that.
Sci fi or not, I kinda want them to get this one figured out ahead of time. It is kinda like assuming that a convicted felon could never be President. You wouldn’t think that rule would need to exist because come on, how could a country possibly want to elect a convicted felon? Its a completely ridiculous notion that could absolutely never happen.
There is a common circle jerk for sure. Humans gonna human, it happens everywhere. However the question was honest if a bit rude sounding.
It isn’t really about edginess. People tend to continue believing in whatever religious preference (or none) they have unless something convinces them otherwise in whatever direction.
To an atheist’s point of view, it legitimately doesn’t make sense why someone would be religious when what they see is nonsense. It is a genuine confusion and not necessarily meant to be rude.
This isn’t just an atheist thing that happens, religious people can often not understand why someone would ever choose anything other than their religion. It doesn’t make sense to them either.
I was thinking the same thing, this is just too specific to not get it mentioned.
I would argue that they are financially motivated to keep proton and Linux gaming going and not just out of the kindness of their hearts. They are competing with Microsoft and their store. When your competition has complete control of the OS you need to run your store on, you are at the total mercy of them. They can’t afford not to keep on their current track. Especially now that they are successfully doing it, going back would be a death sentence.
Achievement Unlocked: Mention Linux in a computer related thread!
100% of tech related posts have this achievement.
(Relax comrades, I too am a Linux disciple.)
A Dungeon & Daddies reference is not what I expected to see today either.
I like the way you think! I think we could do it cheaper though. You know how we have that spinney thing at NASA for the astronauts? Well what if we stand that straight up and accelerate it even faster to launch them into orbit? They will already be dead so the G’s taken on by the body should be fine.
As soon as they came out with scale, I knew core was going to be cut off when scale got good enough. There are just more possibilities with what you can do with Linux. The extra community support can not be understated as valuable to a profit driven company. At the end of the day, they gotta eat too and having one base system instead of two is the way they need to do it. The features are growing much faster on scale than they ever were on core in my opinion.
If it makes you feel better, you would be long dead before you ever hit the ground. Jumping from that point, you would still be in an ever so slightly declining orbit around earth. I am not sure how long it would take you to reenter but you would have died from the lack oxygen long before then. When you do get there, you will most likely burn up in the atmosphere spreading your ashes over whatever continent or ocean happens to be below you at the time. A great way in my opinion to do cremations with maximum spread.
Be the change you want to see in this world.
The real question is could we ever really trust photographs before AI? Image manipulation has been a thing long before the digital camera and Photoshop. What makes these images we see actually real? Cameras have been miscapturing image data for as long as they have existed. Do the light levels in a photo match what was actually there according to the human eye? Usually not. What makes a photo real?
Edit: after a deep conversation with her I am beginning to think what I suggested is probably a bad move and I should just stick to the course you recommended. She told me she likes me because of how I act and the things I do and and most important to this conversation, the things I don’t. She doesn’t believe I have any ulterior motives. Which I am not sure that is the case as I am interested, but I guess I will not ask her. That seems like it would just kill our current relationship. If it happens at all, it will just be natural.
ChatGPT as a programming tool like any other tool works a whole lot better when you are well versed in how the process should go. It speeds up the workflow of a professional, it doesn’t make a new worker better.
