Vice President Harris said clearly that the U.S. has racism in its history, bucking remarks to the contrary from GOP presidential candidates Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
“There is no denying that we have, in our history as a nation, racism,” she said in an ABC News interview Wednesday. “I think we all would agree that while it is part of our past, and that we see vestiges of it today, we should also be committed collectively to not letting it define the future of our country.”
“It’s unfortunate that there are some who would deny fact, or overlook it, when in fact, moving toward progress requires that we speak truth,” she added, referencing Haley’s remarks earlier this week.
Haley denied the country’s history of racism in a Fox News interview Tuesday.
This argument shouldn’t even be given breathing room. We enslaved people of African descent. That is racist. All the fucking children who want to deny that, or use what they perceive as clever wordplay to give credence to their racism needs to shut the fuck up and finish eating their crayon box in the back of the bus. You aren’t clever, you aren’t correct, you are antithema to the human condition. Good afternoon.
And, for the people who claim the civil war was about “big government,” go read the 5 declarations of causes written by the seceding states. They all immediately say they’re seceding because they want to keep slaves and slaves are valuable property, not people.
Mississippi gets extra racist and says that African slaves are needed because people from Africa are well suited to field work in the south’s warm climate.

Yup. The dumbasses claim, “It was about the economy.” Slaves WERE the economy.
“Muh states rights”
STATES RIGHTS TO DO WHAT?
STATES RIGHTS TO DO WHAT, MOTHERFUCKER?
Certainly not states’ rights to not have slaves. Not upholding slavery was literally banned by the Confederate Constitution
Wow, these are wild to read. I’m not a history buff by any means, so I’ve always assumed there SOME nuance. But nope, they clearly say that if they can’t own slaves, they’re taking the ball and going home.
Yeah, if you read the very public reasons the south gave for leaving the union, it’s pretty damn clear. It wasn’t some sort of vague conceptual thing about limited government or liberty, it was all about slaves. People believed black folks were property, not people. And more importantly, a lot of rich and powerful white folks stood to lose a LOT of money and power once the engine of their wealth was emancipated.
As a palm colored person I was ignorant of my racism for most of my life. I thought that it missed me. But once I lost a good deal of my life and privilege out of nowhere racism flooded my mind. I could not even see it as it was. I thought it was righteous indignation but it was just wearing that hat.
It was straight up dip shit whiteness.
After having sat in this miserable white shit for years now reading black authors, watching movies, listening to speeches, just being quiet to witness all I can say I hate that I have racist feelings that will not bend to my will.
I don’t know if it is brain damage or what. But it refuses to give up the fucking ghost in me.
And I am sorry that I have failed you and every other black American. Fuck me I’m so sorry.
You good, bro?
Nope. But I promise I will do good before my spirit has flown.
What does that mean? Think your spirit is gonna fly anytime soon?
“I myself indulged in quite a bit of it.”
Oh shit, I forgot we had a VP for a minute.
Every once in a while she shows up to be black or be a woman. And some other times she’s given impossible tasks so Biden doesn’t have to take unpopular stances and/or fail.
I’m glad the VP is able to do it, but I don’t exactly believe her when during the 2020 Primaries she had a thing against Biden for the racial bussing programs. Then dropped out because being a Cop during the BLM movement was a bad look. Then joined Biden as VP. And when asked why she joined a racist who’s policies personally effected her childhood, she said “It was a debate!”
I’m hoping she sticks to her word and tries to push for some changes for good.
Yeah, Harris is right, and it’s good that the VP acknowledges this, but… her own history on the matter is spotty.
She mostly abandoned her attack on BIden a day or two after the debate when some focus group told her she should actually also oppose federally mandated bussing, so it wasn’t exactly surprising that it wasn’t a sticking point later.
Who is this lady?
Harris is like the football player that goes to the bathroom in the beginning of the move Summer School (1987, highly recommended), you totally forget about them, and then they come back at the end of the movie returning the bathroom pass.
SPOILERS!!!
(I second this recommendation)
Kamala Harris is a cop.
Harris is right to say that.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Vice President Harris said clearly that the U.S. has racism in its history, bucking remarks to the contrary from GOP presidential candidates Nikki Haley and Florida Gov.
“There is no denying that we have, in our history as a nation, racism,” she said in an ABC News interview Wednesday.
“I think we all would agree that while it is part of our past, and that we see vestiges of it today, we should also be committed collectively to not letting it define the future of our country.”
Haley denied the country’s history of racism in a Fox News interview Tuesday.
But the vice president has also signaled that she agrees with Haley and DeSantis about the modern day.
“There’s no question that this system is deeply flawed,” Harris said in a 2019 interview during her own presidential campaign.
The original article contains 380 words, the summary contains 138 words. Saved 64%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
3/5ths rule literally right there in the constitution.
If these racism deniers could read, they’d be very upset.
She talks about it like it’s a thing of the past. Her current boss upholds systemic racism like a badge of honor. Red is blatant, blue is systemic.
So systemic she’s allowed to say these kinds of things, right?
She put plenty of people in jail for weed when she was a prosecutor. Should we ignore her now when she says it should be legal?
Say what you want about Bidens history with race relations, he’s since changed his tune. I’d prefer to vote for politicians who can actually change their thinking on an issue when they are presented with compelling evidence.
Saying is different than doing, this is noting more than election year pandering.
Should we ignore her now when she says it should be legal?
Yes. She has no intention of working towards legalization, she just wants your vote
I was about to say, it’s not really history if it’s still happening. As a person of Palestinian origins, I deny the fact that it should be called history at all. It’s still happening.

Saying there’s no racism in the US is ignoring all her hard work as prosecutor
