Terrible headline. Makes it sound like Biden is chickening out of something in New Hampshire when the reality is that a Republican campaign to cast him as unable to win the state failed. So he’s “set to avoid” it, because the smear campaign failed.

    Post less godawful clickbait, please.

Hmm I don’t really see that reading of the headline - avoiding humiliation implies he chickened out? I think it’s just saying he’s going to… avoid being humiliated, not necessarily through any cowardly means. And the article backs that interpretation up.

Yes, did you? Nothing in there about “chickening out”, whatever that would mean in this context. I think the fact that he’s not appearing on the ballot legitimately set him up to be in trouble there, it’s not out of line to say there was a risk of an embarrassing loss.

Yeah I did, and it never said he was in a position to lose the new Hampshire primary. In fact the first paragraph states he was far ahead.

… right that’s what’s being reported in the article - the polls showing him far ahead are the evidence that he’s going to avoid the humiliation of not being far ahead or even of losing, which some reasonably worried would be an issue given that he’s not even going to appear on the ballot.

Polls of the Democratic primary in New Hampshire showing Joe Biden with about a 60-point lead over rivals Dean Phillips and Marianne Williamson.
