If it’s that black and white, it should be easy to get everyone to vote left then, no?

What position does the other half of your country see the world in? And I don’t mean your mental abstraction of what their world view is, I mean what their actual real world view is. You’d need to actually talk and listen to them to find out. Those are the people you need to connect with.

Lol dude I don’t need to talk to them I’ve lived with it my whole life my mom sat me down to tell me not to vote for Obama because he was the antichrist, and told me not to get the vaccine cuz it was the devils work and it was gonna inject a chip and sell my soul or fucking whatever. Or my aunt who votes republican because she thinks they support the army and that’s it. That’s her sole reason. Funny cuz she quit after being passed up for promotion by a bunch of republicans… and now any promotions are being held up by a single republican… so… that went well for her.

2 people who don’t pay attention or don’t want to pay attention to these things, would be a difficult conversation.

What about someone who’s educated and pays attention to these things? If not, watch some long form videos of the other sides “talking heads” to get the gist of why they’re upset about whatever issue - most people just parrot a few of these talking head people anyways. But do it with an open mind.

I’m saying this because I grew up doing something like that, scoffing at idiots following all these dogmatic religions and seeing all these rapey priests on TV. But then I met a few people who can articulate why they’re religious - and it flipped my perspective about religion quite a bit. I’m still not religious, but it’s much easier to understand those that are, and where they’re coming from - and it’s much easier to get along with a wider range of people IRL.

Most people genuinely want the best for everyone, even if the news headlines don’t make it seem that way.

Idk where you get the idea that I have a problem with anyone for being religious or that I cannot get along with people.

I have a problem with people who use religion to ratify treating other humans as if they are subhuman. I don’t care if you’re educated or not if you put money and profit over human lives. I am not here to mediate people my entire life. Sat through enough of trying that, doesn’t work just is stupid. I don’t live just to fucking please other humans.

I will do my best to make sure everyone has a right to live, I will make sure they get any safety nets possible because even stupid people deserve to live. Even those who’ve fucked up their life deserve to live. I’ll do my best to not allow people to suffer. But I’m not going to go out of my way to make a republican feel good about treating others as less than human for any reason.

I never said you had a problem with religious people, I said I did, but I’m saying my ignorance and trying to view things as black and white is what made me short sighted/ignorant previously. This applies to politics as well.

I’m happy to hear you would ensure everyone has a right to live.
