Donald Trump said on Monday he would appeal the scheduling of a March 2024 trial over his alleged efforts to subvert his 2020 election defeat, though legal experts said such a move was not possible before a verdict is reached in the case.

“I will APPEAL,” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform. He did not say how or when the appeal would be made.

Why would someone so innocent of 91 crimes want to drag this out instead of quickly clearing his name with the evidence he claims to have?

Because his only plan, and the only plan that has even the slightest chance of working, is to delay.

Delay and bank on winning the election. Then have his new AG drop the charges and pardon himself.

Look at the 3 big cases. Respond on the last possible day. Challenge everything even if there is no reason to and they know it won’t go anywhere. Just the challenge slows things down because it has to get litigated.

Trump has used this tactic for decades with his casinos and other properties. Something in your way? Tie it up in litigation until it no longer matters and then drop the suit. But now it’s in overdrive and much much worse.

Exactly. Anyone truly innocent would be rushing to go in court with the cameras and shoot holes in the case and humiliate the prosecutor for the shoddy accusation.
