Regulations are always, inevitably, destroyed by capitalism. Even when it’s in the market’s best interests, capitalism still needs ever increasing profits for capitalism to function. As the rate of profit declines the capitalists have to go after the very regulations that capitalism needed to work in the first place.

I have not been convinced lemmy.world being the largest instance is actually a bad thing. It’s bad for federation, I suppose, but they’re all Redditeurs and I appreciate having a containment zone for them.

He could pardon people in immigration detention.

He could pardon people with federal marijuana convictions.

He could pardon people on federal death row.

He could pardon Julian Assange, Edward Snowden, Leonard Peltier, or any of the feds other miscarriages of justice.

But no.

He just pardons his crackhead son and leaves.

It wasn’t that long before you were born that the Black Panthers marched in the streets with guns to confront murderous cops.

Things look bad because people here have had it too good for too long. We won the Cold War, it was the end of history!

But the good times are coming to an end and America’s chickens are coming home to roost.

I wonder how many police stations will burn this time.

They’re currently in the process of exterminating 2.2 million people by turning Gaza into a concentration death camp.

The only difference from the Nazis is the Nazis had a larger starting population to exterminate. Other than the gross total, the methods are similar and the goals are similar. People in Gaza are being starved and butchered on a scale eminently comparable to the Holocaust and I don’t know how you can deny this.

I’m skeptical of all “outside agitator” narratives that seek to frame uprisings as illegitimate. The fact is, even if he encouraged other people to take direct action, the uprisings were the result of people choosing to take matters into their own hands after that. He didn’t start those fires.

I don’t condone individualistic violence! It doesn’t help and just creates chaos. We should be organized and disciplined, not burning random shit down.

But let’s not pretend the uprising was fake. The purpose of blaming him for all the other protesters taking their own direct action is so people like you are reassured that good USAmericans will never do anything drastic. That’s the actual function of this article.

Things can only get so bad before we hit a breaking point. It will come. Have some revolutionary optimism.

USAmericans burned down a police station last time Trump was president. People got pretty close last time.

Every new little shitty thing only makes it inevitable.

Taking away people’s porn does, in fact, mean taking away some of those creature comforts.

And a lot of people are already pretty uncomfortable.

They’re going to overreach so hard during this Presidential term, holy shit. There’s also many unpopular things they’ve wanted to do for so long and now is their chance.
