My favorite part of Transformers was when my government had the script changed to include Marines being heroic in a movie about giant alien robots. We really needed good PR after that whole Afghanistan and Iraq thing.

How can Steve ban tiktok if Doug won’t let him mitigate homelessness? Why is Bob talking about housing when Alex is gung-ho on genocide?
Sorry, I meant to ask: how can the government ban tiktok when the government won’t do anything about homelessness? How can the government be proud of mitigating homelessness when the government supports genocide?
Citizens United must be a curse from a Greek god. A funny little jab to highlight our tendency to oversimplify.
A hidden device implanted on our cortex at birth should detonate when we suggest something like “We should let corporations solve global warming.”
The list is compiled by the MPA, a group that represents studios, etc. They work with our government, and to which degree I have no concrete idea, (edit: a trade association is supposed to work with governments on behalf of it’s members) but they merely submitted this list to our government. That’s according to the article and the torrent freak source.
I think the article wasn’t being clear and other comments seem to agree.
They’re still figuring out the internet
Terminating service over allegations of piracy. Kicking someone off the internet because an automated copyright system accused them of piracy. That’s crazy.

Wow, and I consider steam to be utter trash. It uses more resources than the games I want to play. A web browsing engine, in the software that’s the only way to launch the game you paid for, just to show bargain bin shit. But I’m not interested in that, I just want to have a place to shop, and then the ability to use the things I bought. I don’t want to drive to Walmart to play the music I bought, I don’t want my computer to load Walmart just so I can play a game. It’s crazy how bad Steam has become.
Studios that can release games on consoles don’t even target people like me. I’m not going to get a console to play 5 good AAA games a year.
A steamdeck however…
I think something got lost in translation, this isn’t literally about google raising your prices but about dynamic pricing + corporations having all your data. Google is just for the example.
Next time an artist makes a big deal about being ripped off I’m going to contrast “working hard and then getting ripped off” with “underregulated industry manipulating society for profit” and probably just pirate.
How far is 11.5 inches away from a foot? Since I don’t know what a foot is apparently, can you tell me how far off I was? Is .5 inches a lot? I can’t tell. I guess people don’t round for convenience? I can’t believe I was so off. 11.5 out of 12? Might as well be 1.5.

The football is one foot long. The European equivalent would be a meterball.
How to “block” ads: Refresh the video multiple times. They will show a few different ads and then give up. It even works on console YT apps which have more ads.
I guess it affects impressions? I figured they would have fixed that, but this still works so whatever.
Sovcits + consumerism == Pirating isn’t stealing because this word here has a certain definition, which invokes this special rule that lets me do what I want.
The special forces test was hard.
For the written test. there’s parts where you would be shown a helicopter for 100 milliseconds then have to remember the configuration, number of rotors, ordinance… Or you see a tank for a split second and have to correctly identify the barrel measurements and other little details.
The stealth mission was difficult too. I managed to be a medic and a ranger but not special forces.
I think it’s a neurodivergent thing. When Steve says “Israeli’s are a bunch of Nazis” you’re supposed to pass through the words and see what Steve is expressing. Steve didn’t couch his statement in a clinical, “these be the facts” tone, it’s obvious what Steve meant. He’s calling out Israel for abhorrent behavior
The “this means X so if you say that it means Y” things is the way some neurodivergents slice up the world. Like we live in a videogame or something. They will literally tell you what you meant by attaching arbitrary rules to your words.
Anyways, Israeli’s are definitely Nazis. (They are not literally Nazis) Their war is soulless, evil. (Evil does not literally exist, soulless is elegant shorthand for morality, how one feels about actions, how deep one feels those patterns are embedded, etc.)
I don’t know what kind of VST this is, but I bet it sounds cool.
I can barely run steam and the games I bought on steam at the same time, which is required for most games. Steam disabled certain features and bloated the software – their launcher takes more resources than actual games. AAA games. (From a decade ago, but still.)
Other launchers might be garbage but the bar seems to be pretty low. Only thing anyone can say is “get a better computer” because in their mind that is a great rebuttal to “why is a game tied to a launcher which takes up 4x as many resources as my entire OS?”
