I have a soft spot for star wars but only the first 3, probably because I was young and it was so breathtaking.

So now I roll with star trek, especially the older ones.

But back on track, Where are the robots? The DIY? The fun stuff. Where are posts about a new ESP32? Some portable 3D printer (probably garbage, lets have a flame war!), how to use phone chargers to get 20 vilts to your led strip, funky homelab setups and deals, better network stuff, even retro computing I’d say.

Yeah, block all the boardroom chatter and bring back real tech!

Yeah I prefer a post about coffee_drudge version 0.12 being released than what we have now.

It’s because they want to measure the creative process.

Which is impossible to do before it has happened.

So they try, and try, and try, and end up with a complex system where everything is measured, especially any kind of risk which is promptly eliminated and then the result is an expensive nothingburger they sell with extraordinary publicity budgets.

Some times they get a little bit creative and buys up a studio that has made a hit, but then they only try to capitalise on the brand name, not the creativity, while compressing costs, and monitor and remove the risks and thus the creativity.

Rince and repeat.

Even the 3.2 gen 1 is the same as the others IIRC and you need like 3.2 gen2 2x2 to go to even 10gbps.

Lots of/some soft doesn’t support it, like photoshop and 3dstudio, but it might work if you’re lucky!

Try to play Diablo 2 or Commandos on a new windows box … Possible but a huge hassle IMO.
