EDIT: Thank you all for the suggestion that I shouldn’t be seeing Ads in the first place if I was living my life right, ha. Trust that I know what Ad-Block is and what DNS-filtering is. The point is that I managed to get this Ad and that it left a poor taste in my mouth.
Lol, that was to be expected, because most people on Lemmy probably don’t see ads at all. Like, literally the only time I see ads is when I’m looking at someone else’s screen or when I have to turn off the sanity filtering to access one specific thing. Oh, and when I have to search from a server I’m always reminded of just how shit the modern Internet is.
I have absolutely no idea how anyone deals with the Internet at Mr Burns’ health levels of advertising, let alone those of us with ADHD.
Nah, my gaming group talked the same shit about 4e. We went back to 3.5 a bit and a ton of GURPS before the group disbanded.
!thanksihateit
There can be too much trash in many places, don’t feel like you’re being excluded.
Stories like this are why I love the kink community (most of the time). There have been very few incidents in the community I’m currently a part of, and the times there have been issues, the community was quick to circle wagons and eject the troublemaker.
One bad act will undo years of good will, we see this constantly irl. Why do you think the mods deserve any benefit of the doubt from people when they unilaterally chose to make a bad decision with no input from the community? If the community can’t trust them to act in their best interests, they’re absolutely well within their rights to demand they step down or move to the replacement community. Because of they’re going to do this once, what are the odds they actually learn the correct lesson and don’t do this kind of shit again?
You’re always going to have someone that doesn’t like a rule, but I’d much rather bitch about a rule that the community voted on that have to deal with the mercurial whims of the mod team.
I ended up marrying my best (girl)friend from high school. We both went into it wanting friendship, were attracted to each other (while in relationships), and ended up getting pushed together by a mutual former friend.
I honestly think this was the best way for this to develop, because we were already close and good friends before we dated, and didn’t try to make a relationship out of it.
Fuck that, <$20-30 or nothing. I’m not playing online, so I’m not wasting most of the cost of the game to be ignored by the dev. Fuck rockstar for turning gta5 into a live service game and entirely ignoring the single player experience.
I hate that rockstar has effectively turned a beloved series into a fucking live service game.
And why should I keep a copy if I can just stream it again from the same or some different site for free in the future?
That’s a big if depending on the media in question, and the effort required to go find it again.
I’ve had so many instances where a streaming site takes down the movie or show I was planning on watching with one or both of my partners, only to have it not there and either have to waste an hour trying to find it again or figure out something else to watch.
Spinning rust drives are cheaper than the time I spend looking for something or being annoyed at having my plans derailed. Plus, I’ve used that more than once to make up for streaming site/content missing issues during get together with friends, so it’s more than worth it to me.
Yes. Now they have another “one of the good ones” on their side that they can beat about. This totes proves they’re not racist /s
I find it fucking hilarious that in 2015 he was calling black artists who would perform at Trump’s first inauguration an “uncle tom”, only to become my mother’s brother Thomas.
Yeah, oligarchs are controlling the media they own, and consuming their media supports oligarchs.
What part of what they said was backwards?
Those with intelligence are able to accept and analyze an idea without agreeing with it
Unfortunately, that wouldn’t have done anything. Because I did that in December and they stopped running like 2 weeks after my verification. I would have caught it on my next scheduled validation, but that doesn’t help me now 😕
Oh, I’m wrong about plenty. But nice attempt to deflect.
That’s almost 167 users per year!
E: almost 177 users/year using the actual amount
Half of that is just ADHD
