A for-profit CEO controlling the direction of a open-source project is a big fucking problem
+1 for Joplin.
Been using it for two weeks and already, I’m loving its light weight feel.
Everything is markdown. Easy to upload images. AWS backups.
I shared this before. The war on NPR for reporting facts in the past years has forced it’s editorial team to “soften” some of these facts so conservatives don’t get triggered. They receive public money from the gov and all.
Maybe it was behind-the-scenes commentary? I recall that one of the goals from the author was that they keep the “positive” outlook. Like, there are plenty of stories of people losing their minds after being stranded.
This would be different.
Shit didn’t even exist until like 10 years ago from my perspective.
Hell yeah Visual novels on Steam Deck!
I finally got into Steins Gate thanks to Steam Deck. I wasn’t able to keep my attention going when I played it on PC.
(tin foil hat)
The government… They control the weather information… Satellites… Weather machines… Snorts cocaine we can’t trust them we need to trust our eyes…
Holy cow.
I’ve used syncthing for years and think it’s great.
And I have the same problem as OP, where it’s a pain in one’s asshole to upload Steamdeck images without going into SteamOS and annoyingly plugging in a m+KB and spend a lot of time micromanaging the uploads.
At no point did I think to put thess two together! Great idea!
Ah, the Facebook owned gaming platform where you can now call homosexuality a mental disorder.
CEO’s location is listed as “The Greater Chicago Area”
Nah, they’ll just make it a AAAA level game
I know so many people in the iPhone treadmill. Like they buy a new phone because they have a iPhone 10 and now the 12 and the iPhone 15 Pro Max SSJ3 turbo Championship Edition They’re on 16 now?
I refuse to be part of that BS and I’m watching all the Steamdeck competitors release yearly iterations. Real sad.
They do. Government orgs are just extremely slow and have a lot of stupid ass inefficiencies.
I did contracting work for a gov website that involved a revamp. It took two years for the work to get to me, one month for me to finish my first pass, and then three more years before it finally launched.
Five years.
Is it game devs? Or shitty fans who like to trivialize things for lolz or because they’re assholes?
(subconsciously picks up golf club)
To comment on the story, and SPOILERS FOR ANYBODY.
Yeah you’re not wrong. The last act after killing Andrew Ryan was pretty unfulfilling. It becomes a full blown first-person shooter.
In spite of that, Bioshock holds a special place on my heart. There’s some really really good level design and storytelling (both through the radio AND environmental storytelling) leading up to Andrew Ryan. I ranks up there with Half-Life 2 in terms of telling stories without hitting the player on the head.
Bioshock 2 and Infinite… Not so much.
I played MGS5 about two years ago during the pandemic.
My god. That game shouldn’t be so graphically beautiful, better than most games that were being released.
Shame the game didn’t have a full ending. I want closure. But that’s my phantom pain.
Twitter. Reddit.
I can’t wait for the AI to reach this level of peak comedy
No doubt about it.
The original drama started off on shakey ground like it was about using the WordPress branding and WPEngine not contributing.
Which, okay I can see his perspective even if I disagree.
But then his not one, but TWO “If you hate my direction, then quit”. Then not one, but TWO “Well we might not return to contribute” threats.
Sounds like his for-profit company is slowly sinking and he’s looking for something to blame that isn’t him.
